Shopify secures the platform. But your store's security depends on the apps you install, the code in your theme, and how your staff accounts are managed. Third-party apps can introduce vulnerabilities, and outdated apps are a common attack vector. We monitor app permissions, staff access, and store-level security — things Shopify doesn't do automatically for you.
We request Staff account access with only the permissions needed for maintenance tasks. We do not request billing access or store owner privileges. You can revoke our access at any time through your Shopify admin under Settings → Users and permissions.
